I’ve been looking for trading apps with little money for a while, and honestly, there’s a lot of noise on the internet. But I just compared the top 5 and wanted to share what I found, because many people believe you need thousands to get started.
MyTrade surprised me. The interface is clean, with no thousand unnecessary buttons. You can deposit from $20 and already start trading stocks, crypto, gold—whatever you want. It has built-in TradingView charts and a demo account with 50k virtual funds to practice for 90 days. It’s probably the best option if you’re just starting out.
AvaTrade is different. Founded in 2006, it has more tools and allows higher leverage with a professional account. It supports MT4 and MT5 if you’re already familiar with those platforms. The minimum deposit is $100, so it requires a bit more initial capital.
Plus500 has a huge catalog of assets (more than 2,800 CFDs). It’s listed on the London Stock Exchange (Bolsa de Londres), and it shows that they’re serious. Recently, it opened futures markets in the United States (Estados Unidos). It also requires a minimum of $100, but if you’re looking for variety, it’s an option.
XM is for people who already know MetaTrader well. It offers extremely high leverage (up to 1000x, though with high risk). The minimum deposit is the lowest: $5. It has different account types depending on your style. If you know how to manage risk, it’s worth considering.
eToro is the social option. Launched in 2007, its strength is copy trading: it automatically copies experienced traders. Minimum deposit is $50. If you’re a beginner and prefer to learn by watching others, this is your platform.
The truth is, it depends on you. If you want something simple and cheap, MyTrade. If you want more advanced tools, AvaTrade or XM. If you need a variety of assets, Plus500. And if you prefer to follow others, eToro. All of them are regulated, so they’re safe.
The important thing is that trading apps are no longer exclusive to people with money. With $5 to $100, you can get started. The rest depends on your strategy and discipline. Before you put in real money, practice with demo accounts. That’s what I would do.
