Recently, I’ve been organizing recommendations for computer-based market charting/viewing software and realized it’s still necessary to compare them properly. After all, using a mobile phone to view the market is really somewhat disadvantageous—besides the small screen, you can only view one window at a time, and when market fluctuations move fast, you simply can’t react in time.

I’ve personally tried a few. SanTzu Stock Market is quite convenient for Taiwanese stock investors—it offers comprehensive market information, and the technical indicators are more than enough. The only downside is that placing orders requires going through other brokers, which is a bit troublesome. Mitrade’s interface is very straightforward and minimalist, so beginners can get started quickly. It also supports trading multiple asset types, including US stocks, forex, and cryptocurrencies, and supports NTD deposits and withdrawals, saving a lot of hassle.

Futu NiuNiu’s desktop version is very feature-complete, and options trading is especially convenient. However, the deposit methods are somewhat limited. Interactive Brokers (IB) is the first choice for people who want to invest in overseas markets, but honestly, its functions are too complicated and it’s not a beginner-friendly option. TradingView’s drawing tools are genuinely top-notch—its charting tools are extremely powerful, and the database is very comprehensive. But it doesn’t support placing orders on its own, so you need to work with other brokers.

Overall, if you just want an easy way to check the market, Mitrade or TradingView are both good options. If you want more comprehensive features, you can consider Futu and IB. If your focus is mainly on Taiwanese stocks, SanTzu is still the most reliable choice. Which computer-based market charting software do you usually recommend?
