Have you ever stopped to think about how much a real YouTuber earns? Because the answer isn't as simple as it seems. Earnings vary wildly depending on the size of the channel, the niche, engagement, and mainly how many income sources the creator can activate.
I'll be straight to the point: a small channel, with up to 10,000 subscribers, earns something between 100 and 500 reais per month at the beginning. But this changes a lot when you start adding affiliates, product sales, and initial partnerships.
Now, if you're in that sweet spot with 50,000 subscribers, things get interesting. A YouTuber with that number of subscribers can earn between 2,000 and 5,000 reais monthly, combining AdSense, SuperChat, Channel Club, and some paid collaborations. That's when you really start to see that it's worth investing time in.
Larger channels, with over 500,000 subscribers, already make money in a very different way. We're talking about 5,000 to 20,000 reais per month, and this increases significantly when advertising contracts come into play. Top creators, those with tens of millions of subscribers, earn between 200,000 and up to 3 million reais per month. It's a completely different level.
But how exactly does this work? YouTube offers several monetization methods. First, there's AdSense, which is the most traditional. The creator keeps 55% of the ad revenue. Then there's SuperChat and Super Stickers during live streams, where followers pay to highlight messages. There's also the Channel Club, with subscriptions ranging from 1.99 to 2,699.99 reais, and the creator gets 70%.
But honestly, one of the most profitable methods, especially for small and medium channels, is affiliate marketing. Commissions can reach up to 80% depending on the product. There's also YouTube Shopping, where you connect your store, and "Valeu Demais," which are fan contributions.
Now, to start earning real money, you need to meet some requirements. You must be 18 years old, have at least 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 hours of watch time on long videos or 10 million views on Shorts. After hitting these numbers, YouTube enables monetization once you accumulate 100 dollars.
Viewership numbers? They vary a lot, but globally, it's around $0.018 per view. A thousand views generate about $0.25 to $4.50. So, 20,000 views yield between $36 and $60, roughly.
What no one talks about is that making money on YouTube isn't just about uploading videos. It requires strategy, consistency, knowing your audience, and exploring all monetization sources you can. Technical quality matters, thumbnails need to be good, and the editorial calendar must be respected.
For those starting out, the real importance isn't earning 500 reais in the first month. It's looking at the growth curve. With dedication and content that truly connects with people, it's entirely possible to turn a small channel into a solid income source. There are people who started from zero and now live very well off it.
