This airdrop season really has people feeling like they’re clocking in for work. The task platforms are packed with a points-based system, and they bring up “anti-sybil” measures at the drop of a hat—basically, the more you panic, the more you look like the ones being filtered out. A couple of days ago, I got the itch to interact with a new project too, but after watching the tutorial for half a day, I still couldn’t figure out what it was actually doing or what permissions I’d need to enable… In the end, I just shut it down and waited for a “confirmation”—either the community steps on the trap first, or I’ll speak up. As for rug-pull prevention, I’ve only got two moves right now: minimize signatures as much as possible, and don’t authorize a whole bunch of messy, random contracts just for a few points; and don’t use your main wallet to test the waters, so you don’t wake up to your emotion chart diving off a cliff. FOMO—just hold on a bit and it’ll pass. Missing out doesn’t necessarily mean losing money. That’s it for now.
