This morning, on my way out, the traffic was so bad it was unbearable, and my coffee turned cold while it sat there… Looking at the chain, it’s pretty similar: the mainnet is like a main road—smooth, but the fees are high; Layer 2 is like a smaller road—cheaper, but if you detour via a bridge (cross-chain), you can easily end up feeling uneasy.
I’m pretty “stingy” right now: for everyday small transactions, stuff like claiming airdrops, I’ll use L2. It saves a bit of gas, and I don’t have to feel the pain every time I click to confirm. But if I’m putting something there long-term, or dealing with higher permissions (for example, changing approvals or moving large amounts), I still go back to the mainnet—slower, but solid. Recently, the whole wave of AI Agents and automated trading has been heating up again; there are a lot of projects that come with storytelling. Meanwhile, the ones who are genuinely stingy about security don’t make much noise… Anyway, I’d rather have less automation—check approvals and contract addresses by hand more often. Even if the tides are slower, it’s fine.
