CryptoWorld News reports that on Monday, Mexico’s President Ximbaum said that the Mexican government has agreed to allow Iran’s national football team to be based in Mexico during the World Cup. She noted that the United States does not want to host the team. Although Iran’s three group-stage matches will all be held in the United States, after the United States said it does not want Iran’s team to stay in the U.S. for the entire tournament, FIFA made a request to the Mexican government. Ximbaum said, “We have no reason to refuse them staying in Mexico.” On Saturday, Mahdi Taji, Chairman of the Iranian Football Federation, said that during the tournament, Iran’s team base would be moved from Arizona in the United States to the border city of Tijuana in Mexico.
