Prometheum Launches Tokenized Securities and Crypto Asset Trading Services for Traditional Brokers

On May 25, American digital asset infrastructure company Prometheum announced the launch of a digital brokerage solution aimed at brokers and registered investment advisors (RIAs), allowing traditional brokerage accounts to directly offer tokenized securities and crypto asset trading, custody, and clearing services. Aaron Kaplan, co-founder and co-CEO of Prometheum, stated that while the crypto industry has addressed the issue of "asset tokenization," it has yet to solve the "distribution" problem, resulting in many on-chain securities products failing to reach mainstream investors. Kaplan noted that there are currently hundreds of billions of dollars in tokenized securities issued on-chain, but without support from traditional brokerage channels, achieving widespread user coverage is challenging. "If tokenized assets cannot enter the brokerage systems that investors are already using, then tokenization is just a solution without a market," he said. Prometheum is betting that traditional financial institutions on Wall Street will lead the next phase of on-chain financial development. The company currently holds a full licensing system registered with the SEC and is a member of FINRA, covering issuance, trading, custody, clearing, and settlement, and joined the DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) tokenization working group in May. Prometheum indicated that more brokers and RIAs will connect to its infrastructure in the coming months and plans to launch on-chain distribution partnerships for large institutional issuers. Kaplan emphasized that the future of capital markets will gradually "go on-chain," but the key is not to replace the existing financial system, but to upgrade it through faster settlement, lower costs, and broader distribution capabilities.
