A lawsuit in New York, USA, is attempting to claim ownership of 39,069 long-dormant Bitcoin addresses under the "Unclaimed Property" law, including wallets believed to be associated with Satoshi Nakamoto and the Mt. Gox hacker.

The legal documents involve approximately 3.7M BTC, which is worth about $285 billion at current prices.
Analysts point out that even if the court supports the plaintiff's request, without the private keys, the Bitcoin network itself cannot redistribute these assets.
