Guiding County, Guizhou, Launches Level I Natural Disaster Emergency Response

On the afternoon of May 19, 2026, the Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Committee of Guiding County, Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, issued a notice to activate Level I emergency response for natural disaster relief. According to meteorological monitoring, from 8:00 on May 18 to 7:00 on May 19, Guiding County experienced 3 stations of extremely heavy rain (Gonggu 279.5, Duliu 238.9, Tongmuchong 204.5), 10 stations of heavy rain, 15 stations of rain, 1 station of moderate rain, and the rest of the stations had light rain. The maximum hourly rainfall intensity was 76.8 mm (Gonggu station from 01:00 to 02:00). The rainfall caused the Xin'an River Changming Hydrological Station to reach flood peak around 4:00 on May 19, with the flood peak exceeding the guaranteed (dangerous) water level by 2.6 meters. According to the "Guiding County Natural Disaster Emergency Relief Plan," the Guiding County Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Committee decided to activate Level I natural disaster emergency response at 15:00 on May 19. The committee requires all relevant member units to strictly follow their responsibilities, act quickly, coordinate operations, and thoroughly carry out disaster investigation and verification, personnel evacuation and resettlement, emergency material allocation, disaster relief for affected residents, hazard investigation and remediation, transportation, water conservancy, and power repair, health and epidemic prevention and disinfection, public opinion guidance, and post-disaster recovery and reconstruction.
