Iranian Media: Status of Strait of Hormuz Passage Depends on U.S. Compliance

On May 24, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, if Iran reaches an agreement with the United States, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to pre-war conditions. The number of vessels able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz is expected to return to pre-war levels within 30 days. Iran emphasizes exercising its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz in various ways, with specific details to be announced later. According to the memorandum of understanding, maritime blockades must be fully lifted within 30 days. If not lifted, there will be no changes to the status of the Strait of Hormuz. Any changes to the strait's passage and navigation depend on whether the U.S. fulfills its other commitments outlined in the memorandum.
