Iran Calls Agreement with the US Not Yet Close Despite Negotiation Progress
The Iranian government emphasizes that an agreement with the United States is still unlikely to be reached soon, even though several key issues are said to have reached a consensus.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, said that there has indeed been consensus on many topics discussed in negotiations between the two countries.
However, he stressed that no party can confirm that the signing of an agreement will happen immediately.
The statement was made by Baghaei in response to media questions regarding the developments in Iran-US talks during Iran's weekly Foreign Ministry press conference.
According to him, the recent intense diplomatic developments reported in the past few days are the result of intensive negotiations over several weeks mediated by Pakistan.
Negotiations between Iran and the US have attracted global market attention because they could potentially influence the geopolitical stability of the Middle East, global oil prices, and the direction of international economic policies.
Previously, the market responded positively to various reports about the possibility of reaching a new agreement that could ease tensions between the two countries.
Despite diplomatic progress, Iran's latest statements indicate that the negotiation process remains complex and has not yet reached the final stage.
