The list also includes GlobalFoundries, PsiQuantum, Quantinuum, Infleqtion, Atom Computing, D-Wave Quantum, Rigetti, and Diraq. NIST clarified that the support will affect two companies in the quantum manufacturing sector and seven developers of such computations.

GlobalFoundries is seeking $375 million for a quantum component factory, D-Wave, Rigetti, and Infleqtion — approximately $100 million each.

Google, Microsoft, and IonQ did not participate in the new funding round.

US authorities stated that the program aims to strengthen the country's leadership in quantum technologies and support national security.

Recall that in May, Keeper Security CEO Darren Guccione stated that AI and quantum technologies will threaten existing security systems.
