My rough categorization is: small amounts + frequently used, don’t bother with multi-signature, a hardware wallet is enough, the key is to write down the seed phrase offline properly, don’t take photos or store it in the cloud;
When assets start to scale up and aren’t moved daily, multi-signature is safer, even if it’s a bit slower, at least it’s less likely to be wiped out by a single mistake;
As for social recovery, honestly, it’s more suitable for people who are worried about losing their keys, but only if you trust those few contacts, and they also need to understand some security, otherwise it’s just shifting the risk to your circle of friends.
Anyway, don’t get carried away by rumors; first, calculate your "cost of mistakes" clearly before choosing a plan.
