It seems that Cao Wei is now portrayed as an antagonist in modern films and television, not only because it lost to Shu Han's "loyalty and righteousness filter," but also because the ending after being taken over by the Sima family was too unsightly.


If Western Jin had not quickly fallen into the Eight Princes' War and the Yongjia Disturbance, the narrative of "Wei inheriting the Han legacy and unifying the north" might be much stronger than it is today.
Later TV dramas may not always view the Three Kingdoms from Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang's perspective; Cao Wei might actually appear more like the true main dynasty.
