#USIranDraftDeal is a 60-day ceasefire/MoU that leaked out May 23-24, 2026. It’s not signed yet — both sides say it’s “largely negotiated” and in final wording stage.

Negotiates suspension of uranium enrichment and removal of highly enriched uranium stockpile 01ca
Pledge of mutual non-aggression with US and allies
US gives:
Lifts naval blockade on Iranian ports
Issues sanctions waivers so Iran can sell oil freely
Agrees to negotiate lifting sanctions and unfreezing Iranian funds during the 60 days
What’s NOT settled yet
Nuclear details: Iran says nuclear issues aren’t part of this phase. US officials say Iran agreed “in principle” to dispose of highly enriched uranium, but how is still being debated.
Sanctions relief: Permanent relief and frozen assets only come after a final treaty is verified. 2647
Verification: US wants “relief for performance” — sanctions ease only after Iran acts.
Who brokered it
Pakistan played key mediator role. Field Marshal Asim Munir shuttled between Tehran and Washington. Trump also spoke with leaders of UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain.
The catch
Iranian state media Fars called Trump’s claims “incomplete and inconsistent with reality”.
Israel’s Benny Gantz warned against linking Lebanon/Hezbollah ceasefire to the deal. be2b
Trump says “the blockade stays until it’s signed”.
Why it matters
The Strait of Hormuz handles ∼20% of global oil/LNG. It’s been effectively closed since Feb 2026. Reopening it would ease fuel shortages and shipping costs worldwide.
Status as of May 25, 2026: Draft sent to both leaders for final approval. Trump says announcement “shortly”. Iranian officials say they’re reviewing.
