Polkadot OpenGov proposes requiring validators to stake at least 10k DOT.
Polkadot OpenGov votes on a major adjustment to the network staking architecture, Referendum 1890 requires validators to stake at least 10,000 DOT as a prerequisite for subsequent upgrades. If approved, nominators will no longer bear the risk of slashing, and unbonding time will be shortened to approximately 24–48 hours; validators will bear the risk of slashing for their own bonds, while nominators can continue to earn rewards without exposing their principal, reducing participation risk and speeding up exit.
