The Shenzhou 23 crewed spacecraft and the space station combination module completed autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking early Monday morning.

The China Manned Space Engineering Office said that after the Shenzhou 23 crewed spacecraft entered orbit, at 2:45 a.m. it successfully docked at the axial port of the Tianhe core module of the space station, with the entire docking process taking about three and a half hours.

According to the mission plan, the three astronauts, including the commander Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan, and Hong Kong’s first astronaut Li Jiaying, will subsequently transfer from the Shenzhou 23 crewed spacecraft into the Tianhe core module. The Shenzhou 21 astronaut crew has already made all the preparations to welcome the arrival of the Shenzhou 23 astronaut crew.
