U.S. Intelligence Reveals Iranian Supreme Leader Hiding in Secret Location with Delayed Communication

On May 25, CBS reported that informed U.S. officials revealed U.S. intelligence indicates that the Iranian Supreme Leader is actually hiding in a secluded secret location, only able to communicate through a labyrinthine network of messengers. Iranian officials authorized to work with the Trump administration are also facing difficulties in communicating within their own government system—this is a core reason why details of potential and past agreements have not been finalized. Two officials stated that when the U.S. sends proposal details, there is often a long delay in receiving a response due to the difficulty in contacting the Supreme Leader. A White House spokesperson declined to comment on intelligence regarding the Supreme Leader's whereabouts or Iran's communication methods. Sources indicate that most Iranian leaders spend their days without sunlight, remaining in heavily guarded bunkers for weeks, and avoid talking to each other unless absolutely necessary.
