Last night, the network was a bit congested. I made a transaction related to re-staking, and it was like waiting in line to buy bubble tea in the mempool: first broadcasting it out, then seeing who’s willing to cut in line for you. When gas is a bit lower, it just stays "pending," and sometimes it gets replaced by a new transaction with the same nonce (basically, you’re canceling your own transaction), and even worse, during congestion, it gets stuck in the middle, with dependencies broken front and back, causing the whole chain to freeze. At that moment, I really understand why everyone would rather pay a bit more to get certainty.

By the way, I’ve been thinking about the recent social mining and fan token schemes—“attention is mining.” It’s lively, but ultimately, on-chain transactions still follow bidding and packing rules. If you lack attention, you have to exchange real money for speed… Anyway, I’m mostly not messing around with main transactions now, just using the side activities to grab some points, so I don’t blow up my mental state.

When you’re congested, do you usually accelerate, cancel, or just wait for it to pass…
