European Central Bank plans to raise inflation expectations in June monetary policy meeting

European Central Bank President Lagarde stated that inflation expectations will be raised at the June monetary policy meeting.
She pointed out that the forecast of a 2.6% increase in prices this year, proposed in March, may be revised as circumstances have changed.

However, Lagarde refused to specify whether this adjustment means a rate hike in June, only saying that the current situation is full of uncertainties, and all data must be reviewed, the economic development trend over the next few quarters assessed, to determine whether action is needed, and what impact these actions might have in the medium term.
Economists and investors generally believe that a 0.25 percentage point rate hike will occur.
