Last night I almost argued with a friend over on-chain data: my side showed a certain transaction "confirmed," while his side still showed pending, and it took more than ten minutes to match up. Later I realized it wasn't surprising; the nodes, RPCs, indexers, and browser backends you use might not be on the same timeline at all... Especially during peak times, some services cache and replay data, so what you see as "on-chain" is actually "on-chain data curated by others for you."

So now I’m a bit wary of the phrase "real-time on-chain": different nodes being out of sync, RPC load, delayed indexing—all can cause conclusions to come early or late. Recently, I’ve also been using ETF capital flows and US stock risk appetite to explain crypto price movements. Basically, many discussions are just forcing causality onto "delayed data." My own quick fix: at least verify with two RPC providers and two browsers, then check the raw event logs; otherwise, no matter how pretty the tables look, they might just be endorsing delays.
