Anthropic exposes vulnerability, European Central Bank urgently summons banks for remediation
The European Central Bank plans to hold a meeting to address the cybersecurity risks revealed by the latest artificial intelligence models, urging banks to accelerate the strengthening of IT system security.
The Financial Times reported that the European Central Bank will warn banks during Tuesday's meeting about the potential threats to the financial system exposed by Anthropic PBC's Claude Mythos Preview and similar AI systems, while also requesting that American banks with access to the technology and European peers not participating in testing share information.
European Central Bank officials emphasized that banks in Europe cannot use the inability to access Mythos as an excuse not to take action, as hackers could quickly acquire this technology.
Anthropic announced last month that Mythos has been found to contain thousands of critical vulnerabilities across mainstream operating systems and browsers.
