"The Mandalorian and Gugu" box office surpasses expectations but remains at a new low
The brand new Star Wars movie The Mandalorian and Grogu opens worldwide. During the long Memorial Day holiday weekend in the United States, the global opening weekend box office is expected to reach $165 million (about HKD 1.29 billion).
On Sunday, Disney, the distributor, said that about $102 million (about HKD 799 million) came from the United States and Canada. Although the North American box office total exceeded earlier expectations, it is still the lowest opening weekend box office among all Star Wars movies released by Disney.
