The Shenzhou 23 manned spacecraft and space station module combination completed autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking on Monday early morning.

The China Manned Space Agency said that after Shenzhou 23 entered its orbit, at 2:45 a.m., it successfully docked at the Tianhe core module’s axial port, and the entire docking process took about 3 and a half hours.

According to the mission plan, three astronauts—including Commander Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan, and Hong Kong’s first astronaut, Li Jiaying—will subsequently enter the Tianhe core module from the Shenzhou 23 manned spacecraft. The crew of the Shenzhou 21 has already made all preparations to welcome the arrival of the Shenzhou 23 crew.
