What is a trading system? I'll give a personal example. I have my own continuous profitable trading system for Bitcoin futures contracts, and I mainly trade Bitcoin with rarely any altcoins. Yesterday, @币圈大铭哥 said 754 was shorted, and I got carried away and also shorted. Then, when I had time to check again, I felt really uncomfortable because I looked at that position from all angles—left, right, up, down—for half an hour. I felt I shouldn't have entered, but I also thought his level wasn't bad, so I was very conflicted. In the end, at 756, I took a small loss and exited because I firmly believed my trading system was fine. We are all influenced by others, and I am no exception.
But trading must be done independently, based on your own trading system. However, many people's trading systems are wrong, which leads to an inability to achieve consistent profits. After reviewing my trades, I decided to short only if Bitcoin broke above 770. I placed an order at 770, got filled, and made a profit today. When I was trading, I was also teaching live students and opening orders at the same time. Teaching isn't about instructing them on futures trading; I can teach about futures, but I won't teach how to trade futures. Doing that is your own responsibility—if you lose, you bear it yourself! I focus on explaining technical signal judgment.
Going back to Brother Da Ming, when he shorted at 754, did he lose? No, because his trading system includes averaging down operations. I don't do that. I prefer to cut losses without averaging down. After he added to his position, Bitcoin dropped, and he missed out on profits. This shows that different trading systems have completely different operation logic and entry methods. Also, position size matters. I tend to hold heavy positions and trade aggressively, but I usually don't enter trades casually. Brother Da Ming's position control is different from mine.
Both can make money, but the process is different. There is no right or wrong—only what suits you best. Because everyone's personality, position size, experience, cognition, and thinking style are different!
