White House: Iran peace agreement may be reached within a few days
Odaily Planet Daily News reports that, according to AXIOS, a senior U.S. official stated at a briefing that the White House does not expect to conclude the war agreement with Iran by Sunday, believing that the agreement may take several days to gain approval from Iran's leadership, including the Supreme Leader. U.S. officials are optimistic that the agreement will be signed within a few days but also acknowledge that the deal is not yet finalized and could still fall apart. The agreement would prevent escalation of the war and ease global oil supply pressures, but it is unclear whether a lasting peace deal can be reached that meets Trump's nuclear demands.
Trump stated on social media Sunday that he has told "representatives not to rush into an agreement," and "both sides need to take their time to get things right." (Jin10)
