Analyst: Bitcoin has lost its structural bullish momentum, and the market is in a risk-averse state

Abstract generation in progress
Mars Finance News, on May 24th, CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr stated that Bitcoin has recently lost its structural bullish momentum, and the current market is closer to a "risk-averse" phase. He pointed out that the structural bullish momentum of BTC disappears when the macro environment rapidly deteriorates, which is an important signal. Before the "Impulse" indicator returns above zero, all current rebounds have not yet been confirmed.
Macro factors are currently reasserting dominance over the market, including the US dollar index (DXY), the 10-year US Treasury yield, and the VIX volatility index. He believes that when the macro environment enters a "supremacy mode," even if on-chain data remains relatively strong, it may temporarily lose effectiveness.
Additionally, the US spot Bitcoin ETF dashboard shows that the current ETF 30-day capital flow momentum is $362.8 million, far below the peak of $13.21 billion set in December 2024.
The market should pay attention to Coinbase's premium index, which remains an important proxy indicator for US spot demand. When this index stays above zero for a long time, it indicates that US buying demand is still present; if it falls into negative territory, even if BTC rises, it may lack genuine US capital support.

The three macro tools are holding things down; no matter how good the on-chain data looks, it's useless.

If Coinbase's premium can turn positive, it indicates that the Americans are really starting to bottom fish.

If the US dollar index is too strong, the narrative of BTC as a safe-haven asset becomes weaker.

Spot buy orders are the real buy orders; futures market manipulations are all fake.

The loss of structural momentum is more concerning than a price decline, indicating that the trend has changed.

If VIX surges again, the crypto market will probably have to shake even more.

The Impulse indicator is still underwater; this wave requires patience.

Let's wait for a macro turning point; forcing the right side now could easily lead to losses.

Confirming a rebound above the zero axis; this signal must be closely monitored.

The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield remains high, making it difficult for risk assets to show any improvement.
