Everyone says that the movie "Love Letter to Grandma" is good, but too lazy to go out, so I found a pirated version online for a quick fix.

If you have Quark Cloud Drive, it's better to download and watch for smoother playback:
Chaozhou-Shantou Grandma Ye Shurou spent her life holding onto her longing for her husband Zheng Musheng who went to Nanyang, relying on years of overseas letters (cross-country letters and remittances) to support the family, raising her children and grandchildren.
There has always been a family legend that Grandpa made his fortune in Thailand and built schools.
Grandson Xiao Wei, due to debt issues, secretly went to Thailand without telling his family to find the legendary "billionaire Grandpa," hoping to solve the family’s problems.
Unexpectedly, this trip uncovered a shocking truth hidden for decades: the "Grandpa" who had been communicating, sending money and items, and expressing longing with Grandma for years, was not Zheng Musheng himself, but a stranger.
The story, through Xiao Wei’s investigation, gradually flashes back to Zheng Musheng’s wandering experiences in Thailand and how that stranger woman, Xie Nanzhi, got involved in this cross-mountain-and-sea emotional and responsible relationship.
The film revolves around the core of overseas letters, showcasing the hardships, perseverance, kindness, and human warmth of overseas Chinese, blending comedy, family, love, and ethics elements, both tear-jerking and healing.
The entire film is mainly shot in Chaoshan dialect, authentic and down-to-earth, focusing on the emotions of ordinary people and the "deep-rooted Chinese kinship."
After its release, it received both good reviews and box office success, making it a surprising hit for the 2026 May Day holiday.
