From model serial numbers to IP addresses, everything is fully transparent. The Ministry of Finance claims it's to simplify regulation, but in reality, it's opening a real-time backdoor for the power grid and tax authorities. Compliance costs are soaring, and underground mining farms are either whitewashing or fleeing.

The Russian government expands the scope of information that miners and mining infrastructure operators must submit to tax authorities.
According to the new decree, the national registration information for miners and operators will include network addresses used for mining equipment (ASIC miners).
The Russian Ministry of Finance states that this measure will help simplify the regulation of digital asset transactions and investigations into violations, as well as facilitate grid operators in monitoring infrastructure loads in areas with dense mining activity.
Under current regulations, Russian miners are already required to regularly update information such as the manufacturer, model, serial number, algorithm, hash rate, energy consumption, operating mode, mined currency, output volume, mining pool, and online statistics links of their mining machines.
