If I could only keep one habit: when I see whale activity, I ask first: “Is this opening a position, or hedging?”

Many people see big orders come in and want to jump in and follow, but the other party might have bought spot and at the same time opened a short to lock in risk, or they might simply be moving their position from one pool to another to save costs… If you chase in, you end up helping them carry the sedan / becoming the bag holder.
Recently, in the kind of meme + celebrity trading-signal calls, this attention-driven rotation has become even more obvious.
So don’t be the last one on the hook—figure out your own gas fees, slippage, and opportunity costs first.
Anyway, I’d rather miss out than pay tuition.
