Sliding from the cockpit to economy class, that metaphor is too harsh.

US Media: Israel is almost excluded from US-Iran negotiations, Netanyahu marginalized by the US side
The New York Times reports that Netanyahu was deeply involved in the Trump administration's Iran strategy at the early stage of the US-Iran conflict, even leading discussions on joint strikes and regime change. But after the US-Iran move toward a ceasefire and negotiations, Israel was marginalized, almost no longer participating in talks, and could only rely on regional channels and intelligence to gather information. This weakens his image as "the leader who knows Trump best" and may affect his prospects for re-election, as the reduction in US cooperation has caused him to shift from the cockpit to the economy class.
