According to FinanceFeeds, Marcin Pióro, the founder of the Polish online foreign exchange platform Cinkciarz pl, has been detained in Chicago, USA, and may subsequently face extradition to Poland. The Polish prosecutors said that the case involves client losses of approximately $50 million, with more than 5,000 victims confirmed. Pióro and multiple executives were previously charged with crimes including fraud and money laundering; if convicted, Pióro could face up to 25 years in prison. The related charges are still pending court review.
