Nashville representatives push for Bitcoin reserve legislation

CryptoWorld News reports that Nashville representative Matt Van Epps stated in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine that the 2026 U.S. Reserve Modernization Act (ARMA) is a direct reflection of the current state of Bitcoin development in his region. He pointed out that Nashville is one of the leading Bitcoin hubs in the United States and will host the annual Bitcoin conference in 2027. The bill aims to solidify the Bitcoin Reserve Executive Order issued by President Trump in March 2025, ensuring its legal permanence so that no future government can easily revoke it. The bill stipulates that future sales of Bitcoin from reserves can only be used to reduce national debt, and authorizes the purchase of up to 200k Bitcoins annually, with a goal of reaching 1 million. All held Bitcoins will be locked for at least 20 years. Additionally, the bill confirms that the federal government shall not interfere with individuals' rights to own, transfer, or self-custody digital assets.
