Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said on Friday that it is currently not possible to say that a Iran-U.S. agreement is close to being reached, as disagreements between the two sides remain serious.

According to Iranian media reports, Baghaei, in reference to a visit by Pakistan’s senior officials to Tehran, said this shows the current situation has entered a turning point or a decisive phase. He noted that Pakistan’s Army Chief of Staff Munir has visited Tehran, and the relevant communications are still ongoing.

Baghaei said that diplomacy is a time-consuming process, and it cannot be expected that results will be seen within a few weeks or a few months through several rounds of back-and-forth consultations, as both sides are making use of various opportunities to convey their respective positions.

In addition, citing military sources, the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that Iran’s armed forces are prepared with new response plans to respond to any U.S. actions. Iran’s new war strategy will include new equipment, operational tactics, and new regional frontlines.
