Today my phone was bombarded again with a bunch of red dots: XX airdrop countdown, XX task deadline, XX "last train"... Basically, it's the attention economy pushing you to get excited. I’ve set a simple rule for myself: when I see a hot topic, I don’t click the link first; I check the spreadsheet first—how many interactions I’ve already had this week, how much gas I’ve spent, and whether I’m just doing the "look busy" thing over and over.

The recent cross-chain bridge hack also reminded me that the hotter it is, the more you should hold back; and after the oracle reported abnormal prices, everyone was just saying "wait for confirmation," which I think makes sense. Anyway, I’d rather miss out on some excitement than jump in just because a popup alert sounds. First, I pull my hand back, take a sip of water, and then decide whether to click that red dot.
