Hasset hopes Powell will leave the Federal Reserve soon so that Wosh can take control "easily."

Golden Finance reports that on May 22, Kevin Hassett, the director of the U.S. National Economic Council, said in an interview that he hopes outgoing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and incoming Chair Kevin Walsh will step aside soon, saying: “I hope he leaves as soon as possible, so that Kevin can fully and comfortably take charge of the Federal Reserve.” Hassett said, “I hope Jay (Powell) will step down, so that we can arrange for another board member to join the Federal Reserve.” He also reiterated that “we absolutely respect the independence of the Federal Reserve.”
