Just saw the latest data on the 20 richest people in the world, and the most eye-catching thing is Elon Musk still far ahead with 638 billion dollars. The gap is huge compared to the second person.
Interestingly, out of the 20 richest people in the world, the majority are from the United States. Just look at Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Jeff Bezos, all competing closely at the top. There are also figures from other countries like Bernard Arnault from France and Amancio Ortega from Spain on the list.
Warren Buffett is still in 10th place with 152 billion, while Bill Gates has dropped to 16th with 117 billion. It's interesting to see how this wealth changes move with market conditions.
This data is from Bloomberg around the end of last year, so the numbers have definitely changed now because their stock prices and assets continue to fluctuate. But it’s still useful to get a big picture of who the wealthiest people on this planet are. The combined wealth of these 20 richest people basically can surpass the GDP of many countries.
