Over the past two days, the group has started replaying those screenshots again—“A certain stablecoin is about to depeg” and “There are problems with reserve audits.” The more people forward them, the more it starts to feel like a group nightmare. As I read them, I also check the project’s merge records and the audit originals (the ones I can actually find). To be blunt, what I’m more afraid of than the rumors is that everyone’s emotions will depeg first—one slip of the hand, and their positions depeg too.
That macro line is actually pretty straightforward: when interest rates are high, cash becomes more appealing, and market risk appetite gets pickier. Even if the chain is hot, it’s easy to be chilled by a single macro bearish signal. My approach is not to add leverage with the emotions. I set positions based on whether I can “tough it out” through continued unfriendly interest rates: lighten up when you need to, spread stablecoins out, and when regulatory or audit news drops, read the text first and only then look at the charts—don’t let your own mind turn into news-driven MEV.
