If you’re just starting to learn about trading, you’ve probably heard a lot of unfamiliar words. Let’s go through the most important ones.
First of all, you need to understand two main trading directions. Long is when you buy an asset expecting its price to rise so that you can sell it for more. Short is the opposite strategy: you sell an asset, expecting to buy it back later at a lower price. You can profit from both—just the directions are different.
Now, the main question: what is твх in trading? It’s simply the entry point into a position—that is, the price at which you open the trade. It sounds simple, but it’s the foundation of all trading. Without clearly understanding where you enter, it’s difficult to plan the rest.
Two other important elements are tied to твх: the stop and the take-profit. A stop is a pending order that automatically closes your position if the price moves in the wrong direction. In other words, it protects you from large losses. Take-profit works the other way around: it’s a pre-set order that locks in your profit when the market moves in a favorable direction.
All three—твх, stop, and take-profit—are what’s called a setup. This is your working scenario: a plan for how the price will move and where you’ll exit from that move.
There are also things you need to consider when analyzing. Many people look at different timeframes—the smaller one and the larger one. MTF and STF in abbreviation. The smaller timeframe gives you details, while the larger one shows the overall picture. It’s important to align the signals between them.
And there are two more phenomena that constantly show up in trading. A trap is when the market issues a false signal, giving the impression that the asset will move in one direction, and then unexpectedly reverses. A correction is a more natural occurrence—it’s simply a pullback in the opposite direction of the current trend. It’s a normal part of market movement, not a deception.
Those are the basic things. If you understand these concepts and learn how to apply them, you’ll already be ahead of most beginners.
