Market Analysis: The Asian market performance is relatively weak, mainly due to profit-taking.
On May 15th, Asian emerging market stocks declined sharply, and oil prices rose due to increasing concerns over inflation and economic outlook uncertainties. The MSCI Emerging Asia Index fell more than 1.7%, and KOSPI dropped over 5%, triggering a circuit breaker and a 5-minute trading halt. BNP Paribas Asset Management's Song Zhe stated that today's decline was more a profit-taking move after the strong rebound since April, rather than a complete shift in risk aversion sentiment.
