Trump Plans $2B Quantum Initiative With Equity Stakes in 9 Firms

The Trump administration plans to award $2 billion to nine quantum computing firms while taking minority equity stakes in each company. A Wall Street Journal report citing the Commerce Department said IBM would receive $1 billion and GlobalFoundries would receive $375 million. Shares of publicly traded recipients rose between 7% and 21% in premarket trading.
