In the past, using a credit card was about avoiding overspending; now, it's about not missing out on cashback: times really have changed.

"If I had a Gate Platinum Card, I’d want to use it to cover all my daily expenses—after all, money has to be spent anyway."
Ten years ago, most people were afraid of text message alerts from their credit cards; ten years later, young people are most afraid of "this purchase didn't earn cashback."
It sounds exaggerated, but reality is truly changing.
Because modern people are increasingly aware: what really makes a difference isn't necessarily getting rich overnight, but long-term habits. Especially for daily spending behaviors, if you can accumulate value along the way, the long-term effect can be quite powerful.
The most typical example is high-frequency small transactions. Coffee, takeout, commuting, supermarkets—seemingly insignificant, but over a year, they might add up to more than travel expenses. As a result, more and more people are paying attention to their "main payment system."
In the past, spending tools were just tools; now, they are starting to have asset-like attributes.
Many young people have even formed a new logic: "It's okay to earn less cashback, as long as I don’t miss out." Because what they truly want isn't just discounts, but a sense of continuous accumulation.
Especially during market volatility, this mindset becomes particularly evident. When crypto prices rise, all previous cashback suddenly look appealing. What was just buying breakfast now seems like "early strategic positioning."
Of course, no one will get rich overnight just from cashback. But it can indeed make the spending experience completely different.
In the past, spending felt like blood loss; now, at least it feels like "health bar auto-healing."
And for workers, this is already very attractive.
