I recently learned about MIMO and found it quite interesting. This is the first officially licensed solution for converting USDT to VND in Vietnam, and it has been officially operating since January this year in Da Nang.

Has anyone wondered what MIMO is? Simply put, it is an intermediary technical platform developed by Dragon Lab, helping to connect digital assets (USDT) with fiat currency (VND) in a completely legal way. The main difference compared to traditional crypto exchanges is that MIMO applies a non-custodial model, meaning they do not hold your funds. USDT always stays in your personal wallet, VND in your own bank account, with MIMO only acting as an intermediary.

The great thing here is transparency. All transactions are verified for "cleanliness" using blockchain technology, strictly complying with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and identity verification (KYC/KYT). This significantly reduces the risk compared to traditional P2P transactions on large platforms—you don’t have to worry about scams or "dirty" money.

Using MIMO is also quite simple. You download the app, verify your identity via eKYC (about 1-2 minutes), link your crypto wallet and bank account, and then you can convert immediately. The exchange rate is referenced from major exchanges, fixed for 15 minutes to avoid volatility. The current fee is 2.5%, but there is a promotional rate of 0.3% during the trial phase.

However, MIMO still has some limitations. It currently only operates in Da Nang (at 3 specific locations), the fee is still higher than regular P2P, and eKYC requirements are quite strict. Wallets with complicated histories may be rejected.

But I see this as an important step. From January 1, 2026, Vietnam officially recognizes digital assets as civil assets. MIMO is a pioneering experiment helping to establish a legal framework for crypto transactions, paving the way for mass adoption. If successful, it could expand nationwide in the coming years.

Is anyone using MIMO yet? Or do you have any questions about what MIMO is and how it works? I can help further.
