【Caixin】 Global private equity investors generally believe that private equity investment in Asia is showing signs of recovery, and that funds are selectively flowing back into China.

On May 19 and 20, 2026, two private equity-themed forums were held in Hong Kong. Attending guests expressed the above view. On April 21, 2026, the Sweden-headquartered private equity firm EQT (EQT Group) announced the successful completion of fundraising for its latest $15.6 billion Asia M&A fund, making it the largest private equity fund in Asia ever. About a month later, on May 18, Bain Capital announced that it had completed fundraising for its sixth Asia fund, with a size of $10.5 billion as well.
