I have just thoroughly researched VeChain (VET) and found that it is a quite interesting blockchain project with a clear focus on real-world applications. This platform was built in 2015 with the goal of solving problems in supply chain management, from verifying product origins to tracking the entire process to consumers.
What I find quite impressive is that VeChain does not use Proof of Work like Bitcoin, but instead chooses Proof of Authority (PoA) with 101 Masternodes. This approach helps increase processing speed and significantly reduces energy consumption compared to other mechanisms. Especially, they apply a dual-token model with VET and VTHO, which separates usage costs from market price, helping to stabilize it.
VET is the main token used to transfer value, while VTHO functions as "gas" to pay for transaction fees. According to the latest data, the total supply of VET is approximately 85,985,041,177 tokens, fully circulating. The interesting part is that holding VET automatically generates VTHO, creating additional value.
By the way, VeChain integrates IoT technology to track products within the supply chain, ensuring transparency and reliability. Their governance system is also quite democratic, with a Steering Committee elected by the community.
Regarding the team, VeChain was founded by Sunny Lu (formerly the Chief Information Officer of Louis Vuitton China) and another co-founder. This explains why VeChain has partnerships with major names like BMW, Walmart, LVMH, Deloitte, Renault, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. These collaborations demonstrate the platform’s practical applications.
Looking back at its history, 2018 was a turning point when VeChain transitioned to a private blockchain and renamed itself VeChainThor. In 2022, they introduced PoA 2.0 with better scalability and security. To this day, VeChain continues to expand its ecosystem, establishing new partnerships in industries such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and automotive.
If you are interested in what VET is and want to learn more, VET is currently listed on many major exchanges with trading pairs like VET/USDT, VET/BTC. However, the crypto market is highly volatile, so thorough research is essential before making any decisions.
