BREAKING: Polymarket Contract Exploit Drains $600K

A contract linked to prediction market platform Polymarket was reportedly compromised, with attackers draining roughly $600,000 in POL tokens.

• Attackers moved ~5,000 POL every 30 seconds
• Funds were spread across 15 addresses
• The affected contract was tied to Polymarket’s UMA CTF adapter
Polymarket says the breach was caused by a leaked private key used for internal operations and reward distribution.

Important:
• User funds were NOT affected
• Market settlement contracts remain secure
• Core infrastructure is reportedly safe

The incident is another reminder:
In crypto, private key security remains one of the biggest risks in the entire ecosystem
