Just saw people freaking out about Elon Musk launching some Tesla phone to take on iPhone 17, and honestly I had to dig into this because it seemed too wild. Turns out it's basically all fan-made stuff that blew up on social media. There's this concept video from ADR Studio back in 2021 that someone designed for fun, and then YouTube and TikTok channels started using clickbait titles making it look like an actual leak. Before you know it, random websites are running articles saying Tesla's about to drop a phone, and everyone's sharing it like it's confirmed news.
I checked with Tech Advisor and some fact-checking sites, and they're all saying the same thing - Tesla has never actually announced anything about making a phone. Elon Musk hasn't said a word about creating an Elon Musk phone to compete with Apple. It's wild how fast misinformation spreads though. One video, some render images, throw in a catchy headline, and suddenly dozens of sketchy news sites are running with it as fact. The whole thing got way worse once iPhone 17 dropped and people were looking for alternatives.
Not gonna lie, it's a good reminder to check the source before believing tech rumors. If there's no official statement from the company or from Musk himself, it's probably just people's imagination running wild. The Tesla phone thing is still just wishful thinking, not something that's actually happening. If you want to avoid getting played by fake news, just verify where the info is coming from before sharing it everywhere.
