Recently, I've seen people watching large on-chain transfers and hot/cold wallets on exchanges, shouting "Smart money is coming/going" whenever there's movement. I'm actually quite hesitant about this: I can observe, but often it feels more like an amplifier of emotions. Going back to MEV, the most directly affected by on-chain "cutting in line" are not the big players who can pay to prioritize their transactions, but ordinary users making small swaps, getting slippage, worse execution prices, and thinking it's just their slow hands. The experience is like constantly refreshing/retrying a webpage but still can't get in, only to find someone can use the VIP channel... Anyway, I now prefer to use limit orders instead of market orders, avoid squeezing in during busy times, and save myself the tuition fees from cut-in line tactics.
