I find that what keeps me from sleeping the most isn't the excitement of how much I've earned, but the feeling of being "stuck" with a red account that hasn't been cut yet. When it's unrealized gains, I think: at least I can still run; when it's unrealized losses, I wonder: did I see it wrong, should I add more, will adding make it worse... My mind feels like a background program running, the more I think, the clearer I become, which is quite annoying.
Basically, it's loss aversion, right? The pain of losing 1 dollar is much greater than the pleasure of earning 1 dollar. What's even more funny and frustrating is that I also look at on-chain data tools for comfort, but the tagging system sometimes says smart money is flowing in, and other times it gets criticized for being laggy or misleading... After reading, I feel even more anxious, like measuring my heartbeat with a dull ruler.
Recently, I’ve been honestly drawing a small chart of my positions, time, and emotions, sticking it nearby, and not looking at the K-line before bed—if I can sleep, I consider it a win.
