Samsung agreed to pay up to $26.6 BILLION in bonuses to 78,000 semiconductor workers after last-minute union talks avoided a strike.

The new 10-year profit-sharing deal could pay employees an average of $340,000-$400,000 EACH through cash and stock options.

For Example, A memory chip worker with a base salary of 80 million won is expected to receive a total bonus of around 626 million won or $416,000 this year.

The deal mirrors SK Hynix’s AI-driven compensation boom, where employees could receive bonuses exceeding 700 million won each if the company reaches 250 trillion won in annual profit this year.

Samsung's shares surged 8.5% to a record high after the planned 18-day strike by domestic workers was suspended.

Samsung’s semiconductor profits are now projected to surge nearly 7X to around $218 BILLION as demand for AI memory chips like HBM explodes
